There are many needs around the world, and right now the people of Somalia are in the midst of a severe famine and in desperate need of food and other humanitarian aid. This CNN article explains the situation.As horrifying as this is in itself, what is just as sickening is to read through some of the comments at the bottom of the article. We are a selfish people. It is haunting to think that it is only by God’s grace am I saved from having that same attitude. This shows us all the more why Christians must lead the way in standing up for and reaching out to the poor, starving, hurting, and marginalized.To help with the U.N.’s relief effort in Somalia, you can donate to the World Food Programme here.
